The only reason anyone thinks they want the complete fossils is because we have a natural human need for closure. But the lack of closure makes them stick in your mind.
Imagine if at the end of Inception, the top fell over and Leonardo Dicaprio looked at the camera and said "I am not in a dream."
It also doesn't help that these designs are fucking boring. Not that it's really the artist's fault, since every complete Galar fossil design I've seen looks boring. The halves because they were designed to be bland in order to keep the designs from looking too busy when combined.
If these were the actual designs, barely anyone would remember or care about them, and they'd be targets of complaints that GF is uncreative.
