From what I understand, this "Creative Fellow" position is the same that Miyamoto has at Nintendo in recent years. Basically, he's retiring from game development apart from supervision and will mostly involved with broader creative decisions for the brand. PLA really was a turning point for the series, seems like it was the first sign of letting a new generation take over as Masuda only supervised it.

It just means he'll work on stuff outside of the games, like merchandising or movies or stuff. Miyamoto was heavily involved in the nintendo universal parks and the mario movie, Masuda will do stuff like that.

Where in the world did you get that from? Their developer interviews say the exact opposite. In fact Masuda said the new generation are responsible for most of the ideas introduced in the Gen 8 games. Iwao solely directed Legends Arceus and he joined GameFreak during Black and White’s development you retard.
