This has got to be the darkest generation of Pokemon yet. The Dexcut fractured the playerbase. Game comes out with a middling presentation and gameplay despite all of their PR. Animations still look stiff. Models recycled from the 3DS era. And so on. Shitting on SwSh became the popular thing to do, driving wedges between people. And THEN this gen overlaps with fucking COVID, evictions, kids having to go to school online, and a ton of other real world bullshit driving everyone deeper into isolation. Both the games and the community devolved into a divisive trash fire.
