God remember when 3D battling used to only be for games like Stadium? The devs would put so much care into the games especially with how we had 151 creatures with their own animations in the first one. I'm sure a game like that in 2022 would be cut in half and the rest is sold as DLC. You'd have side-content ready when you were tired from battling like minigames and then we had full on story modes with the Gamecube. I still remember playing the Chansey minigame over and over again until I could get every single egg without missing. I still remember thinking every gen would have a big 3D game but after Gen 5 we had nothing: no new Stadium, no new Orre game, nothing. Given how modern spinoffs are treated, do you guys think we should still get one or should they rest peacefully?

I like gen 3 more, the region feels more adventurous, while Johtho and Kanto are pretty much a countryside.
People complain about regions bast unova feeling too urban but it's not that much different from gen 1 and 2.

Based thread and absolutely correct. Gen 4 was the objectively best gen, but this set of games was the best experience. Definitely the best way to have developed nostalgia for the series, anyone who wasn’t there missed out.

>height of pokemania, everyone you knew would’ve been exposed to it so you probably had friends into it too. I have several memories of playing the shit out of the minigames with friends

Budget and time. Not only would they need to the dude to say a shitload of stuff to cover every move and pokemon, they'd need to do that over multiple languages, and paying for multiple voice actors in multiple countries is too much work for such a small company like GF.

The remakes are way better. Radical red is easily the definitive way to play kanto. I haven’t played GS chronicles, but I did hear some mixed things about the game.

I got the Pokedex completed on Red and was going to use blue to dupe TMs and stuff for Stadium but my file data got destroyed because the transfer pak fucked up while I was transfering stuff to Stadium 2. Now I either have to fuck up my copy of Red or play through half of Blue again.
