I get what they were trying to do making it leap like a frog, given it's a sort of frog dinosaur thing, but Venusaur is such a big bulky guy that you'd expect him to lumber about, it doesn't really work.

He's not wrong, the mismatched pixels sizes and rotating pixels looked really fucking bad. Especially on the old Pokemon who weren't given as much attention so their animations were just bad tweening. Black and White may be the best games in the series but I wouldn't call them the prettiest, especially not in-battle.

They should play into the frog aspect and give it bounce. Imagine,
>venusaur fight in the ashnime vs ground/fire or ground/grass type
>disadvantaged because of poison typing
>venusaur jumps 20 feet into the air surprising the opponent and spectators
>KOs ground type with super effective move
>bonus points for something like torterra with a 4x flying weakness

Honestly, this is one of the only gliding animations I don't hate. Salamence's Devilman/Jet Scrander looking wings would look pretty silly flapping about, at least to me. Plus the Mega doubles down on it with fusing them into one big crescent.

This made me seethe so hard, completely ruined Falinks for me. Imagine they'd actually programmed the animation to depict a row of mons following along, breaking file and scattering around from time to time, all with varied idle animations etc, being yelled back into formation by their leader, etc etc etc… so much fun shit you could have done with it, but instead we got this shit.
