Some cultures of people were basically still cavemen when we discovered them, so the caveman aesthetic is seen as racist towards them. I'm aware that every culture consisted of cavemen at some point, but this is about outrage, not logic.
Since they've decided that "past" represents "brown people", any nuanced take on "past vs future" will be inherently racist against brown people because it doesn't take their side entirely.

Both of the professors are basically the same color.
