I don't think they're going to outright replace battle challenges. But rather exist alongside them in some form. The progression in this game will be entirely different anyway since it doesn't have a set order of events, but pokemon will always be the focus.
I think my main question will be whether the legendaries are the only motorcycles and you get them at the start, or if you start off with some slower dirt bike or something which you can replace with the fast legendaries.
Also wondering if having friends around in the overworld means there will be a PvP race system as well.
Just no fucking rotom bikes. PLEASE
