Calling it now, gyms won't be in the game, instead we'll get some shit like "pokemon grand prix", where we have to use the legendary to participate in a poorly executed minigame race that replaces battles entirely so they don't have to create 8 different versions for each gym leader's team to scale in a non-linear game.
I know some people find gyms boring, and I liked the totems in SM for what they tried to do, but if I'm right, this will be the worst method of game progression we've ever had. This is still supposed to be an RPG, and the boss battles, as easy as they were, are supposed to be the progression hurdles. Ohmori, if you've done this, I hope you get caught with CP like that guy who wrote Rurouni Kenshin.
