What do you mean normalfag filter?

You can't make the game hard, because pokemon. Just isn't at all. You'd have to go so over the top dark and edgy to scare people off ultimately ruining pokemon in the process.

Battle difficulty ramps up dramatically after the second gym with the game being legitimately challenging by the 7th and 8th.
For an open world game, let there be strong mons throughout the world that can't be caught wothout X number of Badges (so as not to be cheesed) that can dumpster your team.
Make the champion at least as difficult as Volo+Giritina
