Game Freak has really been changing things up recently and with Masuda moving onto other things, who knows what might happen.
Like I fully believe in the Pokémon fire starter zodiac thing but game freak might actually change it this generation.
And look at all the black/white hints, even in Sun/Moon Colress showed up for some reason, in US/UM fusion was sort of a theme, in PLA there’s all the Unova references.
Even Scarelt/Violets past/future theme is similar (Remember Zekrom literally has a jet as it’s tail while reshiram is more ancient.
I think it might happen sooner than later maybe even at the end of Switch’s life cycle (instead of on the next gen device with Gen 10) like how B/W/2 was at the end of the DS’s cycle onto the 3DS.
