Actually BDSP fixes some of the main problems of DP, so if you never played DP go for the remake.

However PLA is much better, but that could also depend on the kind of game you prefer

bdsp is a proper pokemon game but technically ugly. Still fun of you want a classic pokemon adventure.
PLA is the better game, imo, but a few degrees separated from the traditional pokemon gameplay. Lots of people were turned off by it only having a few trainer battles, but I thought the focus on the wild was awesome

PLA is very unlike a regular Pokemon game. Battle system is very different, the novelty of this game is the overworld catching. There are very few trainer battles. Bosses are like gen 7 totems.
BDSP is literally a remake with no surprise changes or removals, nor major additions other than a Battle Tower and gym rematches.
I have only played one of them and tried to be neutral.

It fixes some issues, retains some problems, and also creates new ones. Not trying to be contrarian, just want OP to understand the full picture

Not worth it in my opinion. I would honestly rather play Platinum

PLA for sure. BDSP is fine enough as a cookie cutter Pokémon game, but it's a very stale and needlessly loyal remake. I'd play the game that actually will give you a new and interesting experience, especially if you're liking the more open aspects of SV.
