Khu's riddles has outright stated that
Sprigatitty will evolve to be Grass/Dark, Fuecoco will evolve to be Fire/Ghost, and Quaxly will evolve to be Water/Fighting.
Even Quaxly's ex entry on the Pokemon site matches him being Water/Fighting.
Which is interesting cus it means all the starters will be super effective against each other.

Could they possibly get any more boring. Out of the 9 starter sets, 5 of them have a Fighting Type, 3 have dark. We really don't need to make it 6/4. Why on earth do we need to keep Fighting in the perpertual state of >50% while shit like Rock isn't even represented once?

I think dark makes more sense, gives it strong jaw with decent STABs, if past/future is the theme making it a prehistoric crocodilian or dinosaur also makes sense. Who knows they it may have two forms (which I feel they tested with PLA)

Fighting type kind of sucks. Yeah yeah martial arts but all pokemon can fight. It's becoming really tiresome seeing it so overrepresented in starter final evos. Ghost and dark aren't that bad yet, and are cooler types imo, but they could definitely reach that same level too if GF doesn't pump the brakes at this rate.

Am I the only one that was excited to get a grass/flying type starter in rowlet? I was so disappointed when it changed to a ghost type.

When it comes to Ghost/dark/fighting/dragon/psychic/fairy I’m honestly sick of those types being suggested for starters. Those types don’t feel special anymore thanks to them being slapped on everything including starters these past few gens

Chandelure is actually very popular in Japan. There's quite a bit of fanart on it and it got into pokken.

Yes I know it's a Mexican holiday and I know coco is crocodile and not just the name of a Pixar movie. But I must get such strong skull vibes from his head patterning and the idea of fire erupting out the top of his head makes me think he'll stay bottom heavy to continue some sort of volcano motif as well
