I see Zacian on almosy every team there. Sure seems like the metagame is centralized around it. Seems unhealthy for a compeditive play. It's a good thing smogon singles format has nothing similar.

The meta before Isle of Armor was consistently really fun IMO

Adding a bunch of legendaries without thinking about it too hard is peak gamefreak and ruined the ecosystem

Gen 8 was genuinely one of the best eras for VGC ever, but Gen8+DLC has been pretty bleh

Right now VGC is two restricted pokemon oer team, Zacian is the strongest by far and Groudon is able to deal with Zacian, Charizard can also deal with Zacian and is buffed by Groudon

They have different seasons with different rules, they usually do legendary pokemon formats at the tail end of a generation since people hate them

I mean, to cut them some slack, while zacian, roar and at least one of the genies is repeated a lot here, their b-list mons are a lot more diverse

I dislike 2v2 being the official format. The games revolve around singles 6v6, not doubles. Doubles usually devolve into 50/50 protect guesses and weather tug-o-war. Singles at least have more varied team types and a tad more strategy.

It's all the more reason to leave him out for the limited format. He's almost mandatory for VGC with how good he is. Pushing him out might lead to more diversity if another Pokemon isn't far and away better than everything else as an intimidator.
