First there's the whole "Charizard's stats thing", putting it direct competition with the single most shilled and buffed Pokémon but being given nothing to help it. Meanwhile every other fire starter's stats is either, more minimaxed, or efficient depending on their role
Its move pool is ass-backwards even compared to the other Johto starters (Heart Scale move is Gyro Ball because fuck you). Ironically, its movepool is so shit that when BDSP raped everyone's movepools, Typhlosion's stayed the same
Hidden ability is lame. "its fire type so give it flash fire". For perspective, most Pokemon with Flash Fire have it as a basic ability that they swap out for abilities that don't suck. Then compare it to broken shit like Solar Power, Speed Boost, Intimidate, and fucking Libero that other fire starters get. Even the ones with lackluster abilities have the movepools/stats spread to make up for.
Not given a mega (Charizard got TWO)
Getting Dexcut from Galar where almost every other fire type got Earth Power and/or scorching sands

Keep in mind if the Fire/Ghost Feucoco theory is true then Hiphlosion will be just as fucked over as the original was.
You could argue that it has it better than the other Johto starters, which just highlights how terribly Game Freak treats the trio as a whole if Typhlosion is apparently their favorite. Also, the Feraligatr and Meganium are fucked because Johto starters aren't hashtag-relatable enough for zoomers or sexy enough for the coomers so they'll never be in another dex again. At least Typhlosion MIGHT survive SV's Dexit if its Hisuian form brings it along.
