groudon is a child of the earth, but it isn't the only one. The earth keeps trying, but doesn't have the right material to make a team groudon. It's like a tumour with hair and teeth, it resembles an organism but isn't.

The organism created by Butler's wish. It was unstable, allegedly because of Butler's evil desires. But I think a big part of it was the lack of significant DNA given to Jirachi to build Groudon from.

It made something that looked like Groudon, but it isn't Groudon. It's like how the Entei from movie 3 wasn't actually an Entei, it's just something made by the Unown. Neither of them are actually Pokemon, they're just the idea of them. Also the Groudon is just a ripoff of that bit from Princess Mononoke.

His wish was granted. Unfortunately, whatever the random shit he found actually was had an impact on the Groudon created.

Also it's the Spirit of the Forest from Princess Mononoke, down to being influenced by runaway human ambition.
