I feel you bro. Dark and Fighting didn't deserve this shit.
Fairy was also detrimental to Ice, Psychic, Bug and Grass. All to nerf A SINGLE MOVE.

It nerfed Dragon and thank God for that, but also became inarguably one of the strongest types.

Can't exactly dislike it because many Fairy types were mons I liked in the first place, especially Togekiss and Clefable who got a huge buff.
