>>50718413Dude gen 2 still had the limited bag space and manual box swapping that made both forms of inventory management a pain in the ass, the batteries die even faster than gen 1 due to the real time clock so your save could be lost easily, and the games were completely cut off from newer games making their pokemon un/less obtainable which was the main point of doing any remakes in the first place. Plus no running shoes, but at least that's a non-issue after you get the bike. Gen 2 is my favorite but there's a lot of good features and qol stuff that just wasn't a thing in the originals that made hgss necessary.
