GameFreak's worlds are all based on their own prime timeline where (You) aren't the player character, it's GameFreak's own idealized protagonist with their own preset name, personality and team, else we wouldn't have Red consistently appearing as himself, while not once we've seen TOMMY and his super-powerful Nidoking, or JACK and his iconic team of Normal Types.
The player is a non-entity and shouldn't be factored, only the canonical feats of the campaign that the protagonist can gather.
