Is Psychic unironically the worst type?
While it’s true that Psychic has lots of extremely powerful Pokémon such as Mewtwo, Deoxys, Lugia, Calyrex-Shadow, Necrozma-Dusk Mane, and more, is their power really related to their Psychic typing? Between gen 2 and 5, Mewtwo rarely actually ran Psychic. It took until gen 5 for Mewtwo to actually run his STAB again, and only because he was given Psystrike to deal with Blissey more effectively. Mewtwo would be powerful regardless of what type it is.
Psychic isn’t really all that great of a type, once you look past all the amazing Pokémon that happen to be Psychic type. It’s just one step above Ice defensively, having a mere 2 resistances, Fighting and itself, while having 3 weaknesses. Offensively, it only hits Poison and Fighting super effectively, while being resisted by Psychic and Steel, with Dark types being completely immune.
Tl;dr Psychic type is bad defensively and bad offensively. Psychic as a type is carried by the extremely powerful Pokémon that happen to be Psychic type. It’s not a good type at all.

Psychic was like the best type ever until like gen 4 when people could use dark pulse.

Unfortunately, GF has a serious obsession with psychic monotypes. I'll never forget the retardness that is gen 5 having four separate pure psychic type lines.

Psychic types should be immune to Confusion, the way Fire is immune to Burn, Electric to Paralysis, etc. It'd be a small buff, so it wouldn't make anything broken, and it would add more counterplay to Confusion, a status that can be devastating where even one self attack could mean a game.

I think grass is the worst, followed by bug, then psychic, then ice.

A lot of grass pokemon are good mainly because they get a pass on what is acceptable on account of their shitty typing. Grassy Terrain STAB Grassy Glide Rillaboom or Contrary Leaf Storm Serperior and Lurantis is something no other typing has. Hell, no other typing has as much access to good sleep moves as grass types do, and recovery (and even cleric support) is more common in grass types, but once you peel away all the gimmicks you're left with the worst typing in the game offensively and one of the worst defensively. The best it can get is rock or ghost coverage and even then it gets cucked by steel types or the millions of normal/flying birds.

Bugs are second worst offensively. Ghost coverage is best for them, yet also rare, and they still suffer from birds, but not as many since they don't also suffer from dark types paired with any of the many typings that resist grass. Their main problem is that half of their dex quota tends to get filled up with shitmon

Ice is the worst defensively but great offensively. Their lack of resist seriously limits not just how you use them but what types of teams you can use them on since switching them in safely is such a chore.

Finally, there's psychic, which tends to take a stat stick approach to "bad typing with special privileges". Most psychic types also get decent coverage but few get the ideal fire or ground coverage. When a typing can't run two-attack movesets without getting walled by four or five dozen pokemon is when they start to suck, which is why you see Serperiors getting walled all day despite firing off 140 BP STAB moves that give it a nasty plot boost.

Your list consists entirely of a bunch of legendary ubers, but when you look at more "normal" Psychics like Reuniclus or Gardevoir you start to see the shortcomings of their coverage options. Trying to do anything fancy like Calm Mind just leads to 4 moveslot syndrome.

Sleep needed a huge buff not a huge nerf. Stop trying to "fix" statuses.

If you get statused and can't deal with it, it should be an ohko move.

Theres moves, items, types, and abilities to all get rid of status but no one uses them because "thing i don't like is op. Game Freak pls nerf".

Sleep is what keeps bad mons good, and balances the meta more than "big attack". All smogon bans wouldn't exist if status was buffed
