If you choose Decidueye or Samurott, you will be less stressed trying to catch pokemon since you can use false swipe.

However, with Typhlosion you stop double edge suicides, so once you lowered the HP you can relax.

So for the most relaxing playthrough choose Typhlosion, but if you plan on having another ghost, choose one of the others.

Fighting starters always seem to be the strongest. I chose Samurott because I wasn’t really sure what to expect with LA. I don’t know just pick whatever you feel like using

So you just caught Alphas with luck? Sneaking up to them is not teally realxing if you ask me. And then there are the pokemon that flee if you don't catch in the first throw

Never used them. The best charm is the save game charm. The problem is that the charms take an item slot.

Just throw the sticky globs at them, walk behind them and nothing personal them. Works with legendaries too. Can be pretty cozy if your a good throw, but proper fights are too so up to you.

Samurott is the best option since it takes down three of the five Nobles but it matters little since your progress is tied to the Pokémon you catch and your research level.
You can use high level Pokémon in the first area if you have a high enough research level.

If you want the game to be on easy mode, catch Ursaluna and H. Electrode. Ursa has great stats and coverage for battles, and Electrode has insane speed that gets double turns against basically anything, letting you spam Thunder Wave and its STABs with no need for other moves

They all look very relaxed and reserved. One is a ronin that does its own thing.
Another is a samurai who has perfectly been disciplined in the ways of a retainer.

I think I found out what those globs were only late game when I tried to complete dex entries. And then I tried it on an Alpha Machoke and died to an attack from Skorupy.

But either way, playing like you suggest would make the game a 100% catching simultor without battles, so I like to use ,y team to catch strong pokemon anyway. I do try to throw a ball first most of the times.

I’ll be honest I didn’t even think you could capture alphas outside of battle. It never once worked for me, meanwhile in battle I’d always capture at half health in 1-2 great balls without fail.
