Gimmickshit only came about with Sun and Moon and the introduction of Z-Moves as a mechanic that's only role is to die when it's no longer the shiny new thing.
It's not a good outlook to think that everything should just be dropped and never expanded on.

Megas stuck around for several more games and spin-offs. Fans were in frequent speculation about who would get one next after ORAS added more. Nobody called it a "gimmick" until Z-Moves came and went.

If sizes are in and used you can still have alpha sized Pokemon, I have Pokemon in SwSh that have 255 size so i don't see why they couldn't roll that size in SV

Gimmickshit is never an option. It's an arbitration. It was meant to be used entirely throughout SWSH and never again just like Z-Moves were for Alola.
If you want options ask GF to revise abilities or add new megas. Piling gimmicks to the trash pile is not a solution.
