How does /vp/ feel about the implementation of Alpha Pokemon? I think it was a cool way to build off of Alola's Totem Pokemon.

I remember when I played, I decided to beat up that Alpha Gabite. She wasn't posing any threat to the 'mon I had out, so I decided to use a turn to try to catch her just to see if I could, and I actually did, in a normal ball. I needed a final team member and I decided to use her, and the Alpha status I feel adds personality to her, in a weird way.

But other than that memory, I don't really care for them much. I don't usually like the pitch-toned cries.

Personally I think it depends on context. Big Pokemon are cool, but I'd be terrified out of my mind if I came across one while I prepared.

Alpha Hisuian Goodra was legit terrifying the first time i encountered it, something that cute isn't so cute when it fires that water cannon at you, I manged to capture it tho and now it's one of my constant mons. I wish the modern day goodra kept the shell it adds a lot of personality to the design, you ever see one curl up into it, shit is adorable

Its alright, feel like the real highlight was the variable sizes and weights of pokemon in general with alphas being the extreme of that system. Just a small touch but really sold that it was your bro your using and choose.

Alpha Pokemon aren't really anything special to me so I'm a bit indifferent, but I did really enjoy the size variation as a whole. Wish we could see more of it, I love that my ribbon master Hisuian Typhlosion is a lapdog compared to my starter Typhlosion (pic rel), and would hate to see that change. Though, being a whole foot below the average might be a little much, so I wouldn't complain seeing the disparity change a bit.

Yeah, but it varies from species to species, Pokemon would be no exception, like for example the difference in 1 foot for Typhlosion seems way too drastic. Though it's Pokemon, and especially in the context of Alphas, it doesn't really matter if it's realistic, but that's just how I feel. Like I said, I won't complain if it happens, and that also applies if it doesn't. Just a nitpick more than anything else

Bigger sizes make sense with all the POCKET monster aspect they have. Also it's better than Dynamax because that was the same concept but absurd Naruto Susanoo for some fucking reason.

I think Alphas and sizes as a whole should still be part of the main games.
