I’m sure you know by now, but pro-wrestling has pre-determined results. The champions and winners of a promotion only win because those in charge think they’re marketable to the wider audience.
Someone of course has to lose a match though. Sometimes a promoter will tell a wrestler that their job is to lose and to make the other guy, the promotions more marketable wrestler, look good. Hence, doing the “job”. They’re are there to lose a match and while making their opponents look good and nothing more. Some wrestlers do this so often, probably because they’re so unmarketable and boring, that they’re just perpetually referred to as jobbers both within the locker room and crowd
