for me it was because its mega evolution appearance sucked since it was basically just the same fuckin thing but with its cannons moved around. Also, it should have been water/steel since it has steel fuckin cannons growing naturally out of its body

Was gonna draw up a follow me set i used but it seems showdown already have almost the exact same as me.

It literally does not have a single thing it excels at, stat or ability wise. 79/100/105 is garbage without healing, and while 78 speed is perfectly well and good after +2, it still struggles to kill anything because its offenses are so middling.

Because Game Freak/TPC don't worship Blastoise as much as the other Kanto starters.
Venusaur is Game Freak's Favorite, while CHARIZARD is TPC's favorite. They only love Blastiose because its a Kanto Starter.
Only has one type.
Wasn't supposed to be a game mascot (The original games were Red/Green)
Wasn't even supposed to evolve from Squirtle in the first place

If you want further proof notice who Feraligatr is the only Johto starter who isn't a shitmon.
Meganium : Intentionally made completely worthless (shit movepool and shit ability) to make Venusuar look cooler
Typhlosion: Intentionally made completely worthless (shit movepool and shit ability) to make CHARIZARD look better
Feralgatr: Gets a respectable movepool, and Sheer Force one of the best abilities.

I know other anon already mentioned it but shell smash Blastoise is a gen 8 thing so only natdex players experienced it and I will confirm that mega Blastoise with shell smash is a fucking abomination that shouldn't ever exist.
Still weaker than Zacian-C tho.
