I went back and played BW1 since I stopped around gen 3-4 and was insanely underwhelmed with all the praise it gets here. Never played BW2 afterwards

Cant talk about it either since people just freak the hell out of anything negative is said regarding it

B2W2 is very similar to bw1 but also improves on it in numerous aspects. It's obviously no perfect (no pokemon game is) but I certainly enjoy it a lot. Whether you will though depends on what you disliked about the originals.

I suppose both regarding the story. I didn't mind N however the long cutscenes and cherens in your face like 'this is my character arc do you get it now do you get it' was really not in my tastes
I understand you can turn the animations just off but it kinda defeats the purpose in a way imo. Perhaps I will have to do that though

In that case I won't say that the game has less cutscenes than the original since I don't know how to properly quantify such. At the most it has just as much cutscenes as the first games although it has less preachiness to it. Hugh borders a little but it's just 1 character as opposed to 2 in the first game so it's a bit better and also feels like you're being stopped less for cutscenes (not that that doesn't happen.) Plot is also more your typical fare of stopping the evil bad guys as opposed to the clusterfuck in BW

I've played it about 3 times.
Once as a wee baby when It first released
Again back in 2020 when the meme virus first hit and I had zoom classes to idle in
And most recently a few months ago with the hard mode key enabled, it was quite fun

Fwiw I still think it's good you played the originals first. While the sequels are undeniably better there are a lot of small things as well as story bits that you will only understand having played the originals, and getting to see everything that changed is pretty cool. Just make sure you play the same game as the first one for continuity to make sense

Nice. I didn't learn until very recently that the victory road in B2W2 is actually different depending on the title and has a completely different main layout which is cool as hell.
