first 30 boxes or so living dex

then, the last boxes (you go left instead of right) are used for competitive pokemon, since those get accessed a lot mons are kinda randomly ordered

to the left past those last boxes, breedjects and random mons to trade or wondertrade

sorry it's the most practical and less autistic way to sort them...

Since gen 3 added backgrounds to boxes i would organize them by placing pokemon that looked like theyd live in that area. Now i don't really care since its just a white or black screen

I organize my living pokedex in national dex order, naturally. Regional forms, formes and shinies get their own boxes at the end.

I did that in gen 3 as well, but in 7th I have too few boxes for that so I just put wallpapers in the order they display in the wallpaper menu.

Shinies I don't tend to favourite, all Mons that are part of old teams have the six blue icons on them too, which for some fucking reason you can only do in the Switch app.

I like to keep them unorganized so they stay in the order I caught them in. I like looking through the PC and Box 1 is all early game mons etc etc.
While having one or two special boxes for Pokemon I've trained or are more important to me.

Last box is mons that I'm constantly throwing into my party (Raid mons, hatcher, catcher, etc) plus my in game team gets to chill there as a reward for taking me through the story. Random shinies I get usually go here too.

Next boxes over are my competitive mons, first the ones that have been trained and then the ones that need to be trained. After them comes breeding parents for mons that I want to use in the future or mons I've received in raids/events that I have yet to train.

After that is usually Dittos and Synchronize mons. In the recent games I've tried to get every trainer ID combination from xxxx00 to xxxx99 so that I can always get a PP Up when I do the daily lotto.

Everything else is just Wonder Trade fodder and breejects.

I sort and mark them by teams. Having red and blue marks means I can use the blue mark for what type of team it goes with (singles, doubles, multis, format specific) and then I can use a different combination to denote what team they map to.
Also, I typically line them all up in a box, so I can 5 teams in a box. I have 200+ competitively trained Pokemon, so it's hard to keep track.

I leave the first couple of boxes for whatever fresh catches I get and the 5th box is reserved for pokemon I use on teams, the 8th box is usually pokemon I either dislike or baby pokemon (scrub box) Legendaries are in one box and wondertrades are in one box
