I fail to see how it's a worse gimmick than Dynamax/Gigantimax, with its super artificial stats (x2 health MAX) and triple Z-Move usage. Saying that it lets other pokemon thrive by giving them a chance to succeed is just overblown mental gymnastics to justify bringing your Eevee or Pikachu into comp when they functionally are dead weight when a Dynamax Raichu does the job BETTER.
This whole "Hurrr durrr Megas bad" is entirely derived from gen 8 apologists and dick suckers, and I'm tired of pretending they aren't.
