They unironically made mawile a pokemon. I'm not sure if it was a sick joke or undeveloped content.

Its best use is in the first half of the game where it resists normal moves, but the next gym is the fighting gym, so you get bodied. The gym after that is electric which you don't resist. After that is the fire gym leader and you are weak to that. At this point mawile is starting to be outclassed so you throw it out.

It feels like it was going to evolve but masuda just gave up and said "i'm not making more pokemon lol" before it could get its evolution.

Overall a mono steel with intimidate would've been a good idea, and it didn't even need to have huge bst, just some bst.

In emerald it was ported to victory road because its only purpose is post game pokedex completion.
