i know he got hate after he took over in crystal, and there's a noticeable difference if you go from volume 9 to volume 10, but i liked his art a lot
he did a good job of mimicking mato's style without using chibis, but he really came into his own during the ruby/sapphire arc
i just feel like over time, the quality of his drawing has gone down a bit. i guess it comes with age
in terms of the arcs themselves, kanto and johto will always be my favourites because of nostalgia, but i enjoyed most arcs up to the end of black and white
during the bw2 hiatus i became more apathetic towards the newer arcs, maybe i just need to reread them now that they're done
