Dynamax is the single most broken mechanic for singles and I'm unsure about VGC (if some anon could explain if it warped the meta around it or not it would be great).
Megas could be good if only trash mons had it. Look how Beedrill, Pinsir, Houndoom, Manectric and other mediocre or outright terrible mons became good with it. Sadly pokemon that were already good got great stats from it and even worse, some shitty mons got terrible stats on their mega evos.
