I would say so. Although, it's just nostalgia bias because of how many connections I made with people through these specific games as a kid. The secret bases, underground, Battle Frontier, and yes, even Pokemon Contests were some of the most fun I had with my friends back when we were young. I look back on those days so fondly and cherish these games greatly. However, none of that is to say I dislike other games in the series. On the contrary, I enjoy gen 5's two-game long story, gen 6's introduction of character customization and mega evolution, and gen 7's fun and enjoyable characters like Hau and Guzma, alongside its story as well. Overall, I am glad we have a series such as Pokemon. Yeah, maybe the quality of some games doesn't hold up compared to others in the series, but in the end, it will still be special to someone down the line.
Here's to hoping Scarlet and Violet will be the great games we hope for them to be!
