Dewott and Samurott are embarrassment to Oshawott's amazing design. Oshawott should be single stage with stats of a fully evolved 3rd stage Pokemon.

Oshawott was the piplup of the BW season and similarly carried it. When they met and immediately became rivals the shows quality skyrocketed.

Real talk. This shit can be said about ANY first/base stage Pokemon. The smaller and cute Pokemon are objectively the best, and it's a shame the first stages will always be technically inferior in-game when it comes to battling because of their low stats and limited move pool compared to their final stages. Gamefreak should fix this one day and make it so, for example, a Tepig could get the same stats as an Emboar if you were to give it a special item (not a held item) similar to an ability patch. This would expand the roster greatly of Pokemon you'd be able to battle with. They do it in the anime all the time. Ash's base stage Oshawott/Rowlett/etc taking on their final evolutions in battle.

I don't think it was meant to be "literal samurai", but an animalistic/bestial way of doing a samurai design. They even went further with it on the Hisuian instead of making it a biped entirely

There are better ways of doing a bestial samurai design without forcing a quadruped to wield a human tool that doesn’t even function in its animations. Aggron and Golisopod for example incorporate aspects of samurai into their designs and still convey the powerful wild look, without literally needing a weapon. Samurott is even more overt by comparison.

It’s pretty clear anon. Pretty disingenuous to claim one is “obviously samurai” for having some armor parts while another wouldn’t be obvious to a cultural gap when it has even more obvious samurai details on it. Most people didn’t even pick up the samurai theme of Golisopod for example until later into the gen when it was animated, so your claim kind of falls flat there.
