I wouldn't say I'm excited but I'm definitely interested. If they can pull off the non-linear structure well then it could be a lot of fun to play.

I'm more excited for Digimon Survive and the next Digimon Story. That should say how boring Pokémon has become. The only redeeming thing now is that battling and trading with other players is easy in Pokémon.

swsh wasn't enough to convince me to buy a switch, but a couple years later and with a better income, i'm actually considering buying one now.
Also now the console has a bigger catalog of pokemon games to justify buying it.

I bought one for legends arceus, played it, then sold it.
Switch 2 is probably coming next year or so. Buying a console at the end of its life cycle is always a bad investment.

You know it's funny, I personally have zero interest for the games themselves, but because my kids want them I'm actually looking forward to them. Your kids being excited for something can make you excited for it too, even if you know it's going to be bad.

Doubt it. It's probably coming out at the same time as BOTW 2.
Nintendo consoles typically last 5-6 years and the timeframe fits
