I was born in 1991 and remember playing red/blue/yellow and gold/silver as a kid. I never played any gens after that. I really want to re-explore the Pokémon work but I am just so turned off by the idea that there’s now like 850 Pokémon. It just doesn’t feel “special” anymore and all these gen3-current Pokémon, to me, have no value or sentiment.

I just discovered that LGP/LGE exist. Are these games limited to the original 151 and a recreation of the original gen1 map? If so, does it have the nostalgia factor?
