Counting design AND usefulness here anon. Point stands, Gen 5 stands alone for worthwhile bugs, the rest are trash-tier (because being pretty will only get you so far, while pretty AND talented gets you everywhere)..

Shedinja is one of the chaddest bugs we've got, and alola is filled to the brim with cool bugs.
Gen 1 got a bunch of fun bug designs too, offset by them having shit movepools at the time sure but still cool.

Bug is one of the few types that has excellent and memorable new designs added in every single gen, as well as other more mediocre and forgettable ones. Some gens simply have more bugs than others overall and thus have more of both (good and meh), but trying to link it to an odd-gens-only pattern is a mistake.

No, not really child. That's why I say only Gen 5 was worth a fuck for bugs, it was the only Gen to make them attractive, compared to the other options available. Mald some more I have the correct opinion compared to the bug-chasers.
