Yes it's impossible but only because latest gen legendaries are always shiny locked.
I think there still isn't a way to legitimately get a shiny victini too

Deoxys isn't really my favorite shiny Pokemon in terms of color, though it's super pretty, I nominate mine because of how ecstatic I've been since I got her. 848 encounters, and my rarest shiny by far. My first full odds shiny, too! So, it's the most meaningful of everything I have. Hoping Deoxys gets into SV, I want to try it out so much

favourite shiny in general is a hard choice because there's so many good ones and most have been said in this thread like Metagross, Gigalith or Rayquaza, so i'll go with something no one has claimed yet like Shaymin or Aegislash.
