No one except people who grew up in Pokemania care about any character.
Misty's been gone forever, Brock's been gone forever, Ash is generic as fuck, and all of the other characters are replaceable and unmemorable unless you're a waifufag.
This is also because everyone over the age of 8 understands the Pokemon anime is a toy commercial and doesn't give a fuck to be anything more than that, so similarly, why should people care for or look for anything more?

Ash is the human face of the franchise. Has been since it’s near-inception. He’s also still very popular among children and has earned loyalty from manchildren over the years as well. Your mentally challenged assertions are not the norm, they are a vocal minority.
