Unlike you, I can separate the eras of Game Freak and Pokémon, to you it's pre-childhood, childhood and now, with no distinction between anything. To me it's pre-Pokémon (because they existed before Pokémon and their lessons learned up to '95 helped shape Pokémon), Tajiri-Pokémon, Masuda evolution (skipped Gen III initially, which allowed me to appreciate the jump from GB to DS fully 'cause there was no such thing from GB to GBA), modern era.
