The best thing Elden Ring does is lore through visuals and exploration.

If Violet/Scarlet can match that and work in capturing mechanics and recognition that way, then Violet/Scarlet will be better for it.

What that means is not just having an Abra in grass in some area. Set up the environmental storytelling (hints from NPCs in town, interesting markings in areas) and make the player figure it out.
