I'll alternate other pokemon for a box or two just to break up the monotony. Got a shiny Larvesta in 20 eggs last month. And a quick feet Shroomish before that.

mr. backlot is gonna put eevee in his garden and i'll chain for eevee with a cute charm male jigglypuff, changing it from a 1 in 8 chance to roughly a 5 in 8 chance to find a lady eevee, absolutely stoked

Hatched a Shiny Pichu about a week ago in UM. Once I evolve it, I'll complete my personal goal of having a Shiny of every final stage Kanto Pokemon (including Alolan forms).

Yes, although rarely. I don't like spending much time there.
Despite that, I've encountered and even caught a few Shinies from there.
In fact, one of my oldest (usable) Shinies was actually caught in the Safari Zone.

any Safari Zone Shinies in SS/Em; preferably Gligar/Mareep/Spinarak in the latter, and Beldum/Torkoal/Shroomish in the former. I plan on making dream teams for each pokeathlon event out of the SS ones, and contest stars out of the Em/spare SS ones.

through masochism and insanity- full odds in both games, without exploits, using Illuminate mon to boost encounters and Repel tricks in SS to keep away repeats like Gastly or Bellsprout

pic related took 9 days and 14,516 encounters. Came a day or two after safari week, during which I got absolutely nada lol. Got super into hunting during it after a long hiatus though and now I do not intend on stopping. Caught her first ball and named her Persimmon, but I’ll probably just trade her to Plat/Pearl for contests since her athlon stats are real bad (nature is the worst possible for the activity, rip). At least she looks pretty

This was my first time; didn’t touch the great marsh. Might switch over there if I somehow exhaust my Johto encounter table, but seeing as there are 20+ shinies in my max-level zones that I would kill years of time to earn I doubt that’ll happen any time soon haha

Wish me luck bros, I’m not stopping til I’ve mastered every contest in both gens and taken the gold in every athlon activity possible. All with shinies. Planning on hunting a Munchlax in Pearl to go along with all the Safari Zone buggers, just for fun, since I’ve already tracked down at least 2 of my trees on there by total accident.
If I somehow catch a fucking beldum I’m taking that crown jewel into the Frontier, but I’m sure as hell not counting on that :P
Anyways, full odds all the way baby. Already 5k+ into the next Safari Zone Shiny, wonder who it’ll be

considering what i'm aiming for, that's about 10 shinies for both gens' contests and 18 for pokeathlon
if I want a frontier team (which I might if I do get that beldum, but I'll need to be really picky because I can't really go in with shitmons) that'll be 6 more
and if I want to redo the contest thing in Platinum instead of Pearl with different shinies, that's another 5

if I want to really stretch things and go as far as I possibly can, I'm aiming for about 39 (caught) safari zone shinies
considering how much free time I have, how much a lot of these shinies mean to me, and how much I love both side activities? it is honestly possible that i go through with it

In the case of the Chansey, I think they're Permanently Boosted to 1/64 or something since Chansey is normally really rare. Its encounter rate was boosted so much that 2 of those 3 I found on consecutive days last week.

I think Standard Pokemon are like one in 400 or something however

PoGo has crazy boosted rates. Around 1/450 for regular encounters, boosted rates for rates like Chansey and Onix and 1/20 rates for legendaries.

What do you guys think about Pokemon caught on "modded" hardware? For the gen 3 games I like to use GBI instead of the official one. It doesn't nothing to the games except better video output

I miss wrote that. I'm using the actual Cartridge on the official gameboy player for the gamecube but as the default software has bad scaling I use a third party one that scales the pixels perfectly instead.
