The Swords of Justice are too edgy for you, but not Giratina or Darkrai? They're also somehow too "ugly," yet they were released around the same time as literal abominations like Kyurem-B, Palkia, Heatran, and the buff men in clouds?

And I never said they were ugly. Fuck, the genies are the embodiment of ugliness. Even stuff like Stunfisk at least is animal enough to not evoke human comparisons.

They're my favorite legendary trio for having cool designs, themes and lore, and it's a shame that people often dismisses them and only talk about hating genies or Keldeo.
That said, they're the best candidates for regional variants. Think about it, another Swordmens trio based on Injustice.
>Regional Cobalion - Malicious Ruler, Fire/Dark
>Regional Virizion - Coldhearted Thief, Ice/Dark
>Regional Terriakion - Warmongering General, Steel/Dark
They can be the original trio's arch-nemesis.

You rarely see a trio where all three become good but these three are hardly the worst treated trio.
>Terrakion: consistently good and usable in OU
>Cobalion: there are worse fates than being UU for 10 years
>Virizion: the worse of them but can run special sets well and whatever tier it ends up in it is a threat

I think the Regis are worse off
>Regirock: great... it the lowest tier, the poster boy for rock types being bulky, setting rocks and having no reliable recovery
>Regice: slow pure ice type. Boltbeam couldn't save it for becoming untiered, might have been good if it didn't have 50 base speed
>Registeel: bulky bastard living its best life with body press+iron defense and amnesia but consistently RU
>Regigigas possibly most cucked pokemon ever, thought we would for sure get a "primal" Regigigas in the remakes but nah
>Regidrago a wallbreaker whos only scary move needs it to be at full health, a attacker with mediocre speed and functionally only uses dragon type moves
>Regieleki: the outlier Regi and only one to be OU in 17 years with untouchable speed and a busted ability and unlike Regidrago Regieleki's stab can hits a lot more types.
