In Colosseum it only has its flame out when using a move. I assume it's the same for XD.

i really liked colleseum but couldnt get passed purifying my first few shadow pokemon. maybe i got filtered but didnt want to even play it. just looked way worse than colleseum storywise. regret selling it to gamestop for 10$ because i had to special gamecube skin for XD
