Tbh i think basic BEWD isn't strictly female, but just an abstract representation of a girl'soul, like saying she was fierce or something like that.

Modern copies of BEWD in particular could be male, since they are referred in a video-game with individual names of male demons (Azrael, Djibril and Ibris)
