>>50901452Not that anon, but I learned to sew in 5th grade, well over 20 or so years ago. Back then, Home Economics was a mandatory class - it was all about teaching you how to grow up to be self-sufficient, so you could learn how to fix your own clothes, cook for yourself, and do little projects around the house; these days, kids are raised to be almost wholly dependent on others, which is a shame - the number of people that can't do jack shit as adults and need to hire other people (who will always rip them off) to do it for them these days is appalling.
