So, throwing back to Khu’s “leaked” Dex, the current leaks if true support it. Girafarig evo and a Wooper regional form/regional evo.

From this Dex, what would you want to see get a regional form or evo? I’m hoping for a Ground/Ice mountain goat Gogoat and a Rock/Ice husky to direwolf/wendigo Lycanroc. Then for evos, probably Seviper/Zangoose, Lurantis, and the Unova Basculin forms.

The leaked Girafarig is a different leaker to Khu, but seems to be the same leaker as the rest of the recent picture “leaks” and elaborates on a regional Wooper.

Wooper and Girafarig are possibly there because one is getting a regional evolution and Girafarig appears to be a regular cross-Gen. As such, Quagsire is there just like Persian and Perserkerr are there; and Girafarig is still an old Pokémon available in its original form and as such is displayed

Give it to me straight doc please tell me we'll at least have 450-500 at launch to make it at least better than SWSH. I don't want us setting the precedent of smaller regional dexes each generation if the regional dex is all we're getting in the game.

They're going to have some panel in August where they talk about how they fixed their issues with the 3D modelling process. If they were being truthful about that limitting the dex number, then I feel it's reasonable to expect a Gen 6/7 size dex.

I remember hearing about that but I don't think the purpose of it is what you interpreted it to be. I took it to mean that it was meant to basically be an deeper explanation (damage control) for the dexcut in the first place, three years too late, because GF seems to take forever to receive and understand a message from the west. Not a demonstration of the progress they've made but trying to justify their decision after the fact through a curated presentation that won't show information that hurts their argument, just like any sales representative (or propagandist) would do.

Although I could be wrong. That was my impression from the people who translated it but those knuckleheads could have screwed that up.

I heard it from Joe (lol), so if anyone were to give them the nicest possible interpretation, it would be him. That said, "Oh neat, Game Freak are doing a session at CEDC in August about Pokémon models, specifically about how it has been unsustainable to recreate all for each game and how they've changed their method for Legends, Scarlet & Violet". So, key word is how they changed their method, and if that change actually means anything for increasing their development efficiency.
