>>50921445yeah thats why i was trying to get more info on pla (genuinely didnt remember) so i could see if it fit a pattern or not, because as i said theyre definitely breaking the mold on a lot of things the fandom previously considered to be followed strictly with no room for change, like any cross gen evos after gen4 cuz they seemed to stop doing them for a few gens (discounting regional evo forms and sylveon) which made it seem like they were gone for good. they still never make prevo/baby forms of things from other gens but thats more of a good riddance since it just ate up dex space
>>50921449i would think of this as an extension of wild double battles that maybe the engine just couldnt handle in subsequent games, but if they just got rid of it to make new gimmicks like call battles then yeah id think it was meant as that gens gimmick since it was only in xy and oras
