Diantha is definitely a tough matchup for Cynthia still, Gardevoir is flat out immune to chomp's strongest known attacks, it can no sell super effective hits with psychic, carries reflect for some defense and has the type matchup advantage. would be a fun fight.

Mega Evos came from Kalos, Z-moves came from Alola, and Daimax came from Galar. They are indeed regional gimmicks. Something Iris has none.
