How would you improve this shitmon? I think giving it water absorb would make it somewhat viable

primordial sea isn't really that good, it's basically just adaptability but only for water moves.
water already resists fire, so canceling fire moves rarely means anything, and it dissipates when you switch so you can't support teammates (or even run it on a rain team as it cancels your own rain)
plenty of water types could get it without being gamebreaking.

Meta wise, having more Desolate Land mons in the game is good because it's permanent anti-weather (unlike Cloud Nine or Air Lock) and is the hardest rain counter. It doesn't support weather based teams at all, only the active Pokemon, so you can't build around Desolate Land for abuse.
So you give Magcargo Desolate Land, because
>it desperately needs both the offensive/defensive buff
>it's good for the meta as an anti-weather mon
>it fits the lore

Fire/steel evolution based on the scally foot snails. stats go +30 Hp + 20 attack +10 sp. def. Abilities remain the same. It would be a worse heatran (480 bst) with access to shell smash. Pretty balanced I'd say.

Yes, if Ledian were allowed to be even slightly better than (or even equal to) Orbeettle at anything, then Gen 2 fans might start getting crazy ideas, like Unown being able to swarm like Zygarde or Wishiwashi, or heaven forbid, Delibird being anything other than a joke.

Similar, but I was thinking of replacing its main abilities with Storm Drain and Levitate so that the opponent would second-guess which x4 weakness to use. Other abilities I would give it includes Solid Rock and Innards Out.

Any pokemon switched into battle with it guarantees burn status upon switch in (unless immune through ability or something). This includes allies in double battles.

Would give it a fun niche and make it a great companion to guts users allowing them to free an item slot.
