Why do halfwits STILL insist Ice Type should resist Water? Y'know, it's okay if Type matchups don't always have logic to them, that's fine. But this is beyond that. The suggestion makes ANTI-sense. It is UNsensical. It's akin to suggesting Water should be weak to Fire.
I know most Americans' firsthand experience with snow is pitiful 1 inch blankets that last only a day, but my fucking god I would've thought most of you folks would've learned by now that water melts snow and ice. (Miss me with all those extremely obscure scenarios that don't apply to 99% of real life.) The default reality is CLEARLY that when water and ice mix, the ice overwhelmingly loses that battle, it melts.
You guys have one, ONE SINGLE sorta good justification for Ice resisting Water, which is that Ice Types "produce cold" whatever that means, which freezes water. But think for a goddamn second. That doesn't apply to incoming attacks, Ice Types freeze things OFFENSIVELY when using attacking moves. Sure, most Ice Types have an abnormally low body temperature but that trait works passively and slowly. It's not going to freeze a Water Gun dead in its tracks or anything like that. The Ice Type would need to use an offensive attack to freeze water instantaneously.
So in the end their low ambient body temperature is MORE of a reason to NOT resist Water. An Ice Type wants to stay cold, which they can't do while being assaulted with Water attacks. Liquid water is innately warmer than ice and flushes the cold away and introduces warmth to the Ice Type's body which they would NOT appreciate. There is, quite literally, no goddamn reason at all why Ice would resist Water. A lack of logic would be fine, but this is anti-logical.
