Honchkrow was already good. In fact it's my FAVORITE Sinnoh cross-gen evo, even more than Gliscor. If any Johto Pokemon needed a different evo it was Aipom. Ambipom is an abomination.

There's only two regional pokémon this time out, they[re going with the convergent and ancient/future forms as the new type of pokémon archetype.

I hope the Wooper evolution keeps those axolotl gills on the side of its head.

Murkrow getting an evolution that remains witch-themed would be good.

As long as regular Dunsparce can use Eviolite still I'm all for whatever it might turn into.

Girafaig evo looks fine if the leak is real. Good twist on the idea and not just a retread, and it amends that Girafarig's neck wasn't particularly long despite being a Giraffe.

Pawniard could really become anything. I hope it's cool.

Generally yes but they didn't need to do Murkrow because it already got one or Pawniard because Bisharp is decent. Unless they wanna do a castle/rook mon.

I would have loved some evolutions from Gens 3, 4 or even 6. I was never satisfied with pretty much any of the fully evolved Kalos mons even though they all start out awesome so it would be great to see new evolutions for Pyroar and Helioptile, alternates for Spritzee, Swirlix, Doublade, Skrelp, etc.

But really they fucked themselves with all the megas from back then that are basically never coming back until the XY remakes maybe and you just know when that happens the ORAS megas will not be included.

Pretty based choices, Murkrow and Pawniard are cool mons so it's going to be interesting to see them go down another route, they've got a lot of potential so if anyone had to get a split cross gen evo these guys are a pretty good choice. Girafarig and Dunsparce are shitmons who've needed a straight evolution for so long, so happy they're getting them. Primeape too, he's been relatively forgotten and I hope his evolution is an absolute monster. Wooper getting a form and evo (apparently like his demo form) is a cute meme nod to how popular it became

For what it's worth, we did just get Kleavor, Ursaluna, Wyrdeer, and possibly Basculegion earlier this year. That adds up to 10, or 12 if you account for Sneasler and Overqwil.

Okay, off of that, why is Overqwil not just a normal evolution for Qwilfish? Its new regional form feels quite pointless, even more than most of those. Should have been our first Poison/Steel as well. Biggest disappointment out of the Hisui Pokémon for me outside of Dialga's new form.
